Big and very bright, some software problems, July 8, 2012 This review is from: Samsung S27B350H 27" Class Widescreen LED Monitor (Electronics) I have connected this monitor to my computer: i5-2300 CPU @ 2.8 GHz, 8.00 GB of RAM, 64-bit Widows 7 Professional.
Upon first start (boot-up), I noticed that the monitor was far too bright for me. Especially, since I use CAD software and sometimes work with my face quite close to the monitor. After tinkering with the touch buttons at the lower right corner, I figured them out and managed to turn down the brightness to 29% (my comfort level). Even at this level of brightness, the whites are bright, colors are brilliant, and letters are easy to read.
After that, I installed (from the supplied diskette) Magic Tune, by downloading the latest version for Windows 7. The Magic Tune software was supposed to allow me to control monitor settings with the mouse, rather than with control buttons at the lower right corner of the bevel. Right after installing of Magic Tune, the computer started to restart itself in cycles or shut itself off completely. It wouldn't stay on long... Read more
